Coordinated Senior Services was established to assist seniors to maintain their independence, and most importantly, enjoy their relationships with friends, family, and community.
We provide life-enriching supports that assist seniors to preserve an independent and dignified lifestyle in the comfort of their own homes or senior care facilities.
We have the right staff to meet your loved ones needs we have a great team consisting of personal support workers, developmental service workers, social service workers and attendant care givers.
Our professional services are flexible, and can be arranged to meet both new and ongoing support requirements, for as little as a few hours per week, or as many as 24 hours a day, seven days a week, including holidays.
We work collaboratively with health care agencies, family members, medical and palliative providers to develop a team to ensure that everyone we support achieves the highest possible level of care.
You do not need to be a senior to take advantage of our services.
Meet Our Team
Kathy Chappell is the founder and owner of Coordinated Senior Services. Coordinated Senior Services is a local independent company providing a full range of services to seniors in their own home or senior care facility.
Growing up Kathy did a lot of volunteering at Royal Victoria Hospital as a candy striper, she completed over 300 hours in just a couple of years. Kathy is very happy that RVH has retired the candy striper uniforms and volunteers now have blue smocks as opposed to looking like a mint.
Kathy received her diplomas in Hotel and Resort Management and Culinary Management from Georgian College in 1996.
Kathy married Lloyd Chappell in 1999 and had a son in 2002.
Kathy worked for many years at the family’s business Chappell Farms. Kathy has worked in many capacities over the last 19 years such as designing and building the haunted barn/tent, wagon ride displays, staff management, customer service and teaching school groups.
In 2009 Kathy decided to follow her passion of working with people and enrolled in the Developmental Service Worker program at Georgian College. In 2011 Kathy graduated this program with honors.
In the spring of 2010 Kathy started working at the Waterford Retirement Community, as a Program Coordinator. While working at the Waterford for a couple years Kathy identified the need for a service to help seniors preserve an independent and dignified lifestyle.
In 2013 Kathy started her own company Coordinated Senior Services located at 19 Hart Drive Unit 104 in Barrie, ON.
Kathryn graduated from Durham College in 1975 and pursued a career in the financial services industry and obtained her securities licence in 1979 working in Toronto and Oshawa area. After a 4 year hiatus from the industry she returned in 1991 continuing her career in the financial industry. Kathryn obtained her Certified Financial Planner designation in 2001. In 2003 Kathy joined Edward Jones and was responsible for the Port Perry office until 2013 when she complete a succession plan.
Kathy did extensive work with United Church of Canada at the local presbytery level, conference level as well as servicing on the National Executive. Kathryn was also selected to attend General Council meetings representing the Bay of Quinte Conference.
Kathryn was also a small business owner of a wholesale custom art framing business that did custom framing for several artist and organizations that hosted fundraising auction dinners in both Canada and the United States.
Kathy was an active member of the Rotary Club of Port Perry including serving as president 2006/2007 and attended International Conventions in Utah, Los Angeles, Montreal and New Orleans.
Kathryn relocated to the Barrie area in 2013 when she joined a new branch of a local financial institution. In 2015 Kathy decided to make a career change to the health care industry completing her Personal Support Worker Course in August 2015.
Kathryn joined Coordinated Senior Services in November 2015 as a PSW. In March 2016 Kathy also took on additional administrative responsibilities and marketing. As of January 2017 Kathryn was promoted to Manager, and Corporate Director……
When not working, you will find probably find her on her “old” wood boat that she has been restoring — a labour of love earning the name “foolish pleasure”.
